Here comes summer and the three things leading on my mind are guarding the skin against scorching heat, consuming loads of water, and wearing cool to keep cool. We usually get concerned about the scorching sunny days and try to sustain our fashion in such a way that we can hold onto between our relaxation and apparel. Somehow, the summer season reminds me of Sari fashion and personally, I prefer comfortable cotton drapes for the summer season. Though I don’t wear saris regularly still I think, Sari acmes the exquisiteness of women in the most elegant manner. We can have great summer wear choices in cotton saris.

Sari 1

Cotton is an extensively chosen natural fiber that is soft; smooth surfaced, airy and sheer. Handloom Cottons are decent plain weaves of thoroughly placed yarn threads. It is absorbent and a very versatile fabric. It offers good affinity to most color dyes, blends very well with almost all other fabrics, provides a very pleasant surface for block prints, and is the right backdrop for prettifying additions like mirror work, beads, sequins, etc. Therefore cotton saris are my go-to options in the summer season. My favorite picks for this summer season are-

The Malmal Cotton Sari

Malmal cotton saree is a traditional Indian saree made from soft and breathable cotton fabric. The term “malmal” refers to the fine, lightweight texture of the cotton fabric, which makes it a popular choice for hot and humid climates. Malmal cotton sarees are known for their delicate and intricate designs, which are often handcrafted using techniques like block printing and embroidery. They come in a wide range of colors and patterns and are typically worn for formal occasions like weddings and festivals. The comfort and elegance of malmal cotton sarees make them a timeless classic in Indian fashion.

Kota cotton sarees come in a variety of colors and designs and are often embellished with intricate embroidery or printed with traditional motifs. They are perfect for hot and humid weather and are popular among women of all ages for their elegant and timeless appeal.

The Plain Cotton Sari with Printed Border

The plain body of the sari provides a canvas for the border to stand out, while also allowing the wearer to accessorize with jewelry or a blouse in a complementary color. This type of sari is suitable for both formal and casual occasions and can be dressed up or down depending on the situation.
