We tend to use our wardrobes according to the recent trends, loyalty to a brand or pure convenience. However, the clothes that we are wearing are always in close touch with our skin, they make us hot or cold, they create changes in our blood and they even influence our mood.

Wholesome health is my perspective in terms of fashion. The ancient science of life, Ayurveda, goes on to teach that all the things around us, including what we wear, influence our energetic harmony. Our garments do not only serve as a means of appearance; they are effective resources in health.

It is an elaboration on how to become an Ayurvedic Dosha dresser, or in other words, a philosophy of dressing as per your own energy map, your Dosha. Once you know the effect various colors, fabrics, and silhouettes have on the energy of your body,y you will be able to turn an otherwise collection of clothes into your support, vitality, and balance.

Every person has his/her own sacred composition of the three most important energies or Doshas known as Vata (Air and Ether), Pitta (Fire and Water), and Kapha (Earth and Water), according to Ayurveda. Although all of us possess all these three energies, one or two of them are usually pre-dominant and this characterizes the physical and mental make-up of a person.

Ideal health and well being is reached when your Doshas are in balance. But this can be disturbed by the way you lead your life, stress, food, and even environment. They are represented by physical discomposure or emotional instability or a feeling of offness.

There is a slight but strong energetic impact to the clothes that you wear. They are capable of pacifying (calming) an aggravated Dosha or increase one that is already elevated. The key to finding the way to restore the harmony of your body lies in your wardrobe with its application of holistic style principles that will help your body towards such a direction gently.
