Amal Clooney was among several prominent figures seen attending the second day of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival 2025 on the island of the Lido di Venezia in the Venetian Lagoon, Italy, wearing a 1990s dress that astonished fashion aficionados and made headlines online.
Amal Clooney, a 47-year-old British lawyer and human rights activist, was spotted on the red carpet of the 2025 Venice International Film Festival, which featured the Netflix comedy drama “Jay Kelly,” starring her husband, George Clooney, Greta Gerwig, Riley Keough, Emily Mortimer, and others. Amal walked the red carpet with husband George Clooney hand-in-hand, dressed to impress in a reimagined vibrant piece originally designed by Danish fashion designer Erik Mortensen for the Jean-Louis Scherrer Fall/Winter 1995/1996 Haute Couture collection at Paris Fashion Week; she radiated classic elegance and vintage charm, dazzling both attendees and fans.
Amal Clooney wore a strapless fuchsia changeant silk evening mini dress, which featured a beautifully ruched bodice adorned with delicate button-like details cascading from the chest down, adding a hint of playful charm.
Her costume had a long, voluminous taffeta cloak tied at the back of the waist that flowed gently behind her and gracefully trailed her down the red carpet, creating a compelling image that was fitting for the festival’s grandeur.

To finish her vintage-inspired look, Amal Clooney wore Aquazzura metallic gold “Forever More” sandals with spaghetti straps that beautifully overlapped at the back and front, complete with a stunning 105 mm heel. She completed her look with a Jimmy Choo gold metallic nappa diamond box purse and Cartier high-end jewelry, which included Panthère De Cartier earrings, a Grain de Café ring, and a Harry Winston engagement ring.
Each piece added a layer of sophistication and glamour to an already breathtaking look.
