As you all know the name of model Bella Hadid in the world of fashion is just 24 and is one of the top models in the USA. She is the daughter of Yolanda Hadid, also a great model in the US. She revealed in 2016 that she is suffering from chronic Lyme Disease, one of the rare-disease, and behind the scene, her IV drip photos are revealed. IV drip is used for rehydration and the fulfillment of nutrients. She was diagnosed with this disease in 2012. She opened up about this in 2016 while working as a model at that time she was just 20. She said in her Instagram story that;
“After 10 years of needles, my tiny veins usually give out once before we get a good one.”
Heavyheartedly, she also shared her IV drips photos in that story. This is due to her autoimmune disorders, as her whole family is facing this condition. Her mother Yolanda Hadid, Gigi Hadid, and Anwar are also suffering from autoimmune disorders i.e., Hashimoto’s Disease. Moreover, she is also suffering from man “invisible diseases” like nausea, insomnia, headaches, brain fog, weight gain, and loss. She shared it also on her Instagram stories and said that these invisible diseases are affecting her on daily basis.
Such a big model is suffering from this rare disease which has no cure and it transmits mainly from the bite of infected black-legged ticks. Talking about its typical symptoms include; fatigue, headache, fever, and the characteristics of skin rashes usually called erythema migrans. It is caused by the Lyme Disease Spirochete and is responsible for the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and rarely Borrelia mayonii. As it usually transmits to the human being through a tick bite.
Her, mother Yolanda Hadid said at the Global Lyme Alliance gala event in 2016;
“Sometimes the severe symptoms can sometimes, bring you to your knees.”
At the same time, she also said;
“There are rough days when you sleep 12 hours, you wake up at 11 and you can’t get out of bed, with severe joint pain, brain fog, anxiety. There are a lot of symptoms that you can’t see from the outside but bring you to your knees on the inside,”
Hadid matriarch Yolanda also said that;
“You can never get rested, that’s the best way to explain it, Life goes on and you try to keep going. Especially with the younger generations, they have to keep pushing.”
Additionally, many other celebrities are also battling this disease including the singers they include; Justin Bieber and Avril Lavigne, and actor Alex Baldwin. There is no treatment for chronic Lyme disease.

However, in 2016 Bella revealed her emotions in “People” magazine,
“Life isn’t always what it looks like on the outside, and the hardest part of this
journey is to be judged by the way you look instead of the way you feel.”
Bella’s older sister Gigi who is also suffering from the autoimmune disorder Hashimoto’s disease said;
“Growing up, having three of my family members sick made me very independent,” she told Elle in February 2019. “My mom couldn’t drive or get out of bed some days, so I took my brother to school with me, or I made lunch.”
Also, in the magazine “People”, she shared something about her fashion week;
“When I’m at fashion week it literally only work, and when I’m not working, I’m sleeping – especially during fashion week. I don’t go out that much, I eat dinner by myself in my hotel room and go to sleep. That’s pretty much my fashion week.”
She also said about her disease in her Instagram post;
“Living with a few chronic autoimmune diseases = always finding time for my IVs,”
Often, we see her Instagram stories and feed which show us the glitzy side of her life and is all about the world of fashion and modeling, we think it is glamorous but deep inside the words of Bella and other celebrities show us how top professionals are suffering from and battling in their lives in different aspects. The confidence of that cat walking presents us feel the glamour of their success and lives, but this is not enough for happiness and satisfaction.
