What is aesthetic style?

The aesthetic style is a trend that has not gone unnoticed, the basis of this new movement surrounds aesthetics, it considers the nature of beauty, art, and taste for all that is beautiful to look at. I call it a unique style and an innovative fashion style.

These are the common aesthetic style you should know about, they are around us. With the help of this post, you can easily identify these fashion aesthetics.

1. Business Aesthetic: this type of aesthetic is also known as corporate, and it has been around since the 1950s. It relates to business attire that employees wear to work and is styled depending on the workplace, various levels of the formality of business attire are expected. The dress codes range from traditional and formal to smart casual, business casual, and casual.

The key colors are black, white, dark blue, and gray, while bright colors are seen but used moderately. Business professional, the most formal type of attire, is of dark and muted colors. Aside from the usual black color, charcoal grey and navy blue are perfect suit colors for a workplace environment. CASUAL is a less formal attire, bright colors are used moderately, and little or no pattern. An example of a casual combination is a shirt, tie, and hoodie over it, with pants and cross bag to compliment the outfit, with loafers that can be combined to create a business casual outfit.

Fabrics, textures, and patterns: smooth surface and little prominent weaves for office work. Shiny fabric for special occasions such as evening dinners. For professional settings, it is appropriate to.wear.little to no pattern wardrobes.

2. Japanese Americana Aesthetic: according to https//en.m.wikipedia.org “in traditional Japanese aesthetic, wabi-sabi is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfections and it is sometimes described as one of appreciating the beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete ” in nature”. To me this is what makes the Japanese Americana Aesthetic style unique, it is prevalent in many forms of Japanese art.

On January 6, 2021 words by Marc Richardson on GRAILED “when it comes to menswear, Japan and America are mutually obsessed with one another, with a never-ending exchange of ideas and style.

I would say the fashion transformation that hit Japan by storm is not just considered an appropriation or copy of culture but is much more than that. It is a representation of the contemporary nature of Japanese society and its ever-modernizing influence throughout the world. It is a discovery of an entirely new identity, a new persona,.and one of the greatest instances of cultural exchange and globalization.

3. Softboy/soft girl Aesthetic: this fashion style goes beyond just the styling but the personality of the person wearing the outfit. Softboy and soft girl are male and female-identifying individuals that display more tender traits, from how they act to how they dress. Soft boys are stereotypically associated with the feminine.

How do you style like a soft boy?

A. Get, straight leg light wash jeans,

B. Oversized sweatshirt,

C. Striped dress shirt,

D. Striped sweater,

E. Denim over shirt,

F. Corduroy pants.

There are certain attributes of a soft boy, like the soft boy haircut, which is basically growing your hair to about a medium length, trimming the sides and styling it in a somewhat messy way or in a curtains style or a tapered middle part or might just be a box fade, afro fade, the hard part with fade, line up, and twists with fade.

Softboy aesthetic is often misunderstood as a mode of existing in the world, softgirl has been described as the Gen z version of the girl next door, subversive and empowering. These qualities make the soft girl Aesthetic style unique.

The urban dictionary describes it as “nice to everyone” and approachable ” with an affinity for sweet-as-candy clothing and accessories.

4. Minimal Aesthetic: the attributes of a minimalist include, a love for neutral colors, clean spaces, few distractions, little to no clutter, and a calm vibe. These attributes are seen in their daily lives and also in their taste in fashion. A minimalist aesthetic can refer to home design, personal style, or even how we choose to live our lives.

Anyone can pull off a minimalist aesthetic and not only a minimalist because of its simplicity and effectiveness. Minimalism as a fashion style is not always about owning less, rather, it’s about paring back the pieces that you do wear, removing any unnecessary extras, and focusing on timeless staples pieces to create an intentional, cohesive look.

After all, nobody said you have to be a true minimalist to pull off this look. So when it comes to seeking minimalist inspiration these are a few other trends you can look to for ideas;

A. Streetwear,

B. Rugged modern,

C. Scandi style,

D. Japanese style.

5. Streetwear: according to Fashinnovation “street style has been around since the 20th century”. Its impact on fashion began around the end of world war 2. It is a specific fashion style that originated from British fashion culture.

To me, streetwear is an expression, an expression of oneself without presuming from mainstream fashion thinking. It doesn’t have to follow current trends, just a combination of different styles and making them unique. The idea of streetwear is limitless, bringing together different combinations of words and putting them together to make sense.

There are many fashion aesthetics in the fashion world but the ones listed above are the common ones, on my next post I’ll be discussing another unique aesthetic style so you can recognize your true style. Thank you for reading.
