Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Shine in Yellow and Black Tulle at the “Wicked: Part One” UK Premiere
Nobody can deny that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo aren’t trendsetters who have the ability to make a trendy statement effortlessly.
And on Monday (November 18th, 2024), they were seen arriving at the Royal Festival Hall in England for the “Wicked” London premiere dressed in outstanding yellow and black tulle looks that not only captured the essence of the iconic characters they play, celebrated the theme, and perfectly embodied the spirit of the musical in the film, but also seamlessly stole our hearts.
Beginning with Ariana Grande, who has always looked fabulous in pink throughout the “Wicked: Part One” promotional tours, she hit the green carpet this time in a Ralph Lauren collection custom yellow gown that effortlessly demanded attention and wonderfully suited her brilliant personality.
The gown had an off-the-shoulder neckline, a fitted silk gazar bodice, and flowing organza fabric wrapped around her arms while dropping down into a multilayered floor-length ballerina tulle hem with sweep train, delivering her an ethereal appearance.
To complete her spectacular outfit, Ariana Grande wore Ralph Lauren sunglasses and Swarovski crystal-encrusted accessories like a Matrix tennis necklace, Eternity Solitaire stud earrings, and Matrix Vittore ring, which sparkled as brilliantly as she is.
Ariana Grande’s overall appearance exhibited a fine balance of sophistication and whimsy, alluding to her character, “Glinda,” the Good Witch in the “Wicked” film.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Nigerian-British-born actor Cynthia Erivo showed off another eye-catching appearance, switching from her normal green uniform to an elegant black one.
This time, she wore her outfit, which debuted on the runway during the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024/2025 collection show.
The look featured a bold black gown with unique details such as a sleeveless velvet mock neck top and voluminous high-low hem with a tonal tulle explosion embroidered with contrasted light pink square-shaped crystals on the lining, which added an unexpected pop of color and texture to the gown’s black elegance.
She completed her look with black velvet fingerless gloves, Schiaparelli black bespoke black platform shoes, tights, and a hat.
Cynthia embodied the aggressive yet compassionate essence of “Elphaba”: The Wicked Witch of the West throughout this ensemble, from the gown to the accessories. Or what do you think?
From the foregoing, I can certainly infer that the contrast of Ariana Grande’s bright and cheerful yellow and Cynthia Erivo’s bold black was a lovely portrayal of the characteristics they represent.
Furthermore, their yellow and black color choices created a sense of unity throughout the evening, expressing both their strong uniqueness and the enchanted realm of “Wicked.” What are your opinions regarding Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo wearing yellow and black tulle looks at the “Wicked” London premiere?
