Shakira, Rihanna, and Kim Kardashian Dazzle at the 2025 Met Gala Red Carpet Celebrating Superfine: Tailoring Black Style
The 2025 Met Gala took place this week (Monday, May 5, 2025), with the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and was attended by several celebrities at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dressed in the “Tailored for You” dress code, which was inspired by an illuminating exhibition on Black dandyism that displayed the originality and depth of Black culture through customized elegance.
Among the most well-known celebrities who attended the 2025 Met Gala and confidently graced the red carpet were singer and dancer Shakira, who made a striking entrance in a bespoke Prabal Gurung ensemble featuring a silk taffeta hand-draped bubble train; actress Rihanna, who showcased her radiant baby bump in an exquisitely tailored Marc Jacobs suit; and Kim Kardashian, who captivated the audience as she arrived in a customized Chrome Hearts co-ord set adorned with reptilian pattern accents.

Let us begin our blog post about the celebrity fashion showdown at the 2025 Met Gala, which features Shakira, Rihanna, and Kardashian’s looks, with what the 48-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter wore.
Shakira, who dazzled attendees at last year’s Met Gala in a custom Carolina Herrera gown with a sculpted rose cape, made another stunning appearance at the 2025 Met Gala in custom Prabal Gurung and Nicolas Bru designs. The customized ensemble featured a pink corseted wool crepe trumpet gown adorned with sheer panel embellishments that added a bold accent, ascending gracefully to her knees and culminating in an elongated silk taffeta bubble train, meticulously draped and secured at the back, producing a stunning silhouette as she traversed the red carpet and posed for photographers.

Shakira, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, is known for enhancing her red carpet outfits, and she did not disappoint at the 2025 Met Gala, where she wore custom Prabal Gurung with gorgeous pink-black polka dot cuff gloves and Charles & Keith peep-toe platform sandals in the same pink tone.
How about the accessories? Shakira, a Latin pop queen, wowed the crowd with Pasquale Bruni‘s Goddess Garden high-end jewelry collection, which featured a white and rose gold necklace that stole the show.
2. Rihanna
Rihanna, an R&B icon, has captivated audiences with her red carpet maternity fashion, most notably at the 2023 Met Gala honoring “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty,” when she wore a custom Valentino silk faille dress with a 5-meter train and a silk faille cape with 30 camelias, 500 petals, and 25 leaves. Rihanna, 37, continued to wow the fashion industry at the 2025 Met Gala, which celebrated “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” by arriving in a wonderfully tailored Marc Jacobs ensemble that included a black cropped tuxedo blazer topped with a Cartier brooch for a touch of royal flair.
The Hollywood star enhanced her fashion-forward look by layering her cropped blazer jacket with a white collared cropped shirt fastened with an FD Gallery Art Deco Bulgari double clips brooch and a dramatic black and burgundy-dot neckerchief. The layering continued with a sculptural grey top that highlighted her baby bump and a stunning black pinstriped skirt that flowed to the floor and had a daring thigh-high slit and train.

The look was finished with handcrafted Amina Muaddi black and white mules, a Stephen Jones Millinery black bespoke hat, a Judith Leiber “Navy Satin Skylar” purse, and Cartier-inspired glittering diamond accents.
3. Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian rounds up our list of the three best-dressed celebrities who attended the 2025 Met Gala, including Shakira and Rihanna. Kim Kardashian, 44, a well-known media star who has previously attended the event, including last year and the year before, looked magnificent in a custom-designed Chrome Hearts two-piece with reptile print embellishments at the 2025 Met Gala.
This coordinated combination consisted of a black leather backless corset waistcoat with an off-the-shoulder neckline that highlighted her collarbones and a back buckle strap that exuded contemporary elegance. The look was completed with a low-rise black bodycon skirt that accentuated her contours and was embellished with a double-long white pearl chain that trailed beautifully from front to back.
And when it comes to nailing the look, fashion superstar Kim knows more than anyone else. She donned Amina Muaddi “Yigit” black shoes that emphasized her already dominating presence, a wide-brimmed black leather hat by Stephen Jones Millinery, and dazzling diamond accessories inspired by Boucheron, FD Gallery, and Alisa Moussaieff’s high jewelry collections.
Kim’s style was a magnificent tribute to modern tailoring that astounded fashion aficionados.
