Eminem, originally known as Marshall Mathers, entered mainstream hip-hop at the end of the 90s and not only changed the face of rap music but also formed an individualistic trend reflecting his rebellious nature. During the 90s Eminem’s appearance was extremely expressive as it developed into an image of male aggression and roughness, which was reflected in his music.

His hair started representing his secondary personality, Slim Shady, and he embraced the image entirely.

Eminem was also known in the ‘90s for his racy sense of style which was a perfect representation of his crude character and his rap origins in Detroit. From his usual trousers and devastating shirts to t-shirts that were plain white, popular as his bleached blonde hair, his dress during this period formed part of his music. In Eminem’s early days, he chose super dull colors but as he stepped into the limelight, people got used to the new looks the rapper, although those 90’s styles are considered his trademarks are indeed the best elements that epitomize him as a rascal who doesn’t care about what others have to say.
