Experienced and skilled Dark Souls speedrunner Distortion2 continues to Elden Ring Runes set new records in speedrunning within Elden Ring. Distortion2 has already beaten Elden Ring in under 37 minutes, which could possibly become the new record for the fastest completion time.
In a video that was posted earlier today, Distortion2 was able to complete Elden Ring in just 36 minutes and 20 seconds. While the community of speedrunners and categories about Elden Ring are still forming it is believed that this is the fastest “Any percent” speedrun from the recently released RPG.
Although it’s impressive that you can beat such an enormous and often challenging game so quickly, what makes it even more impressive is that Distortion2 has been enjoying a good run lately. A few days ago, he has recorded what is believed be the fastest sub-40 minute timed game’s final run. And the day before that he beat the game in just 50 minutes, again believed to be one of/if not the first to achieve this feat.
Because this is an “Any percentage” run, Distorition2 isn’t required to finish all steps, collect all the runes or do the other things that are usually needed to progress through the game. The main goal in these kinds of races is to get to the end of the game and make it to the credits as quickly as possible by using every method and tricks you can.
With time as the community of speedrunners in the area of Elden Ring forms and begins making rules, categories, and recording the runs, we’ll probably see players beating the game with no effort or while using no glitches. For now Distortion2’s runs remain amazing to watch, particularly when you think about how many people need weeks to beat a game as Elden Ring.
