The manner you rinse your hair or the items you use can make a big difference in keeping your hair smooth and lustrous. For healthy hair, follow these basic guidelines.

WASH OILY HAIR MORE FREQUENTLY

The amount of oil produced by your scalp should determine the number of times you wash your hair.

You may have to shampoo your scalp as often as twice a day if it is oily.

Your scalp may be drier if it has been chemically treated, so you might want to clean it less regularly.

Because your scalp produces less oil as you age, you may not have to shampoo as frequently. However, if you notice flakes in your head, you may not be washing your hair frequently enough. Dandruff as well as other scalp problems can result as a result of this.

CONCENTRATE SHAMPOO ON THE SCALP

When cleaning your hair, focus on cleaning the scalp first, rather than the entire hair length. Washing simply your hair can result in flyaway, lifeless, and harsh hair.

USE CONDITIONER AFTER SHAMPOO

Unless you use a shampoo that cleans and softens your hair in one step. By boosting shine, eliminating static electricity, strengthening strength, and providing some shelter from harmful UV rays, conditioners can greatly enhance the appearance of broken or weathered hair.

CHOOSE A SHAMPOO FOR YOUR HAIR TYPE

If you color your hair, for example, use a shampoo made for color-treated hair. Consider using a “2-in-1” shampoo if your hair is broken or chemically treated. Many shampoos or conditioner brands, regardless of price, deliver the same benefits of healthy hair.

PROTECT HAIR WHEN SWIMMING

Wet and condition your hair before going for a swim to protect it from the harmful effects of chlorine. To replace lost moisture, wear a tight-fitting shower cap and apply a specially formulated swimming shampoo or deep conditioner after swimming.

Use a heat shield, volumizer, or polishing gel and serum first, followed by a shampoo, conditioner, or any in-shower treatment. Next, shape and dry your hair, finishing with wax (or similar product) or hairspray. By following these simple steps you should have beautiful and healthy hair all the time.
