Hello, fashionistas! Summer is here, and the heat is on! Honestly, on lazy summer days, the last thing I want to think about is putting together a complicated outfit. But then again, I still want to look and feel great. Today, we’ll discuss 6 summer outfits for lazy days.

Lazy Summer days

Summer outfits have to do with soaking up the sun, enjoying long days, and embracing a laid-back lifestyle. On those particularly lazy days when you want to look effortlessly chic without much effort, having a few go-to outfits can make all the difference.

I cherish my days off or, as I like to call them, lazy days because all I want to be that day is lazy. Guys, I’m not even joking. I just want to cuddle up on my bed while reading a book and snacking on junk food. Or, go out with a few friends wearing lazy, comfy but chic outfits. These things are the simple, enjoyable cravings of my life. So, all I want my outfit to do is make me look effortlessly chic.

Summer outfits for lazy days.

I want to believe the non-stop rain in Nigeria is over because I have endured comforting heat for the past two days. I bet you thought I was going to say something else (haha). Anyway, I’ve successfully gone back to my comfortable summer clothes for my lazy days. So, I thought I’d share some of my inspirations.

Here are six easy and breezy summer outfits that are perfect for those laid-back days.

1. Classic Sundress

Easy and Breezy:6 Summer Outfits for Lazy DaysI know I’ve used this in all my blogs but nothing says summer quite like a classic sundress. This versatile piece is a staple in every wardrobe for good reason. Choose a lightweight fabric like cotton or linen to keep cool. Opt for a midi or maxi length for added comfort and ease.

The best thing about sundresses is their easy accessibility and affordability. However, it’s only in Nigeria that when they see something thriving, they hike the price. Anyway, it’s still a must-have.

Floral prints, stripes, or solid pastel colors can elevate the look effortlessly. Pair it with some comfortable sandals and a wide-brimmed hat to protect yourself from the sun, and you’re ready for a stroll in the park or a casual brunch.

2. Denim Shorts and a Breezy Blouse

Denim shorts are a summer essential, providing a casual and cool vibe that’s perfect for lazy days. Pair them with a breezy blouse or a loose-fitting tank top. Look for tops with fun details like embroidery, lace, or ruffles to add a touch of style without compromising comfort.

Slip into a pair of espadrilles and flip-flops, and add some oversized sunglasses to complete the look. This outfit is perfect for a relaxing day at the beach or running errands around town.

Now, when I say denim shorts, I do not mean short shorts, alright? A moderate-knee-length denim short paired with a crisp white tee, slip-on sneakers, and a wide-brimmed hat would be perfect for a lazy day outing. It leaves room for your legs to breathe as well as making you look effortlessly chic.

This is my second go-to outfit for any outing during this hot period.

3. Lightweight Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are the ultimate all-in-one outfit, making them a go-to choice for lazy summer days. Look for a lightweight, breathable fabric to stay cool in the heat. A jumpsuit with wide legs and a loose fit will keep you comfortable and stylish.

Choose a playful print or a bold color to make a statement with minimal effort. Pair it with some comfy slides, sneakers, and a crossbody bag for a chic, effortless look that’s perfect for any casual outing.

Some people say body shape interferes with jumpsuits but I don’t agree. Jumpsuits may be all-in-one when it comes to looks but they are the same for body types. However, knowing how to pair them with accessories is what makes your outfit stand out. Now, for summer, I advise a simple minimalist look with small-rim earrings and necklaces. Now, that is perfect for a lazy day, even if it’s just inside the house where you can ditch the accessories.

4. Maxi Skirt and Crop Top

For a bohemian-inspired look, a maxi skirt paired with a crop top is another way to go for summer outfits on lazy days. Choose a flowy skirt in a fun print or a solid color, and pair it with a simple crop top in a complementary hue. This outfit strikes the perfect balance between comfort and style.

Add some layered necklaces, a floppy hat, and a pair of strappy sandals to complete the ensemble. This look is ideal for a day spent exploring local markets or enjoying a picnic with friends.

If you’re in a country where the weather isn’t predictable at times, like Nigeria, and there are chances of rainfall, then you might have to consider taking a jacket.

I have made it a habit to have a jacket with me wherever I go, even at my mum’s store. The reason for this is because it could rain at any time here and before you know it, I can go from hot and sweaty to cold and chilly. So, this outfit not only helps you keep your legs cool through the breezy material but also guides them away from the harsh heat waves of the sun.

5. Graphic Tees and Joggers

Graphic tees are a display of fun and cozy. I usually just look for silly graphic tops that make me feel and look lively on a sunny day. Did I also mention that joggers are like my favorite trousers? They are very comfortable and anyone who frequents my blogs knows I prioritize comfort over anything.

However, pairing joggers is most times a hassle. Which is why baggy tops and fitted tops are usually the go-to tops for joggers.

For example, pair a fun graphic tee with cozy joggers, slip-on sneakers, and a baseball cap. This is a balance between lazy and chic. Imagine going to the cinema with friends and you don’t want to dress up but still want to look good, then this is the outfit.

This is part of my go-to summer outfits for lazy days.

6. Rompers and sneakers.

I keep saying sneakers but you can also go with sandals if you want a more down-to-earth kind look. Rompers are almost like jumpsuits but the kind that I would mostly wear indoors. They are one of the most minimalist summer outfits.

Rompers are cute and the beautiful thing about them is that minimalist accessories pop with them. For example, if I wanted to have a chill in-house day with my friends for probably games or movies, then I’d gladly go for this kind of outfit but instead of shoes, I’d be barefoot or I’d wear socks.

However, if you want to go out, probably not too far and just have a chill day, then pairing rompers with hats, a crossbody bag, and sneakers or sandals is the chic way to go.

Final touches

These outfits are designed to keep you cool, comfortable, and stylish on those lazy summer days. You can always add or subtract to make your look.

To add a pop to any of these outfits, consider adding a few key accessories. A stylish tote bag or a chic backpack can carry all your summer essentials. Honestly, I feel blessed to have a tote bag because I don’t have to look for expensive bags to help my lazy day outing. Furthermore, don’t forget sunscreen and a reusable water bottle to stay protected and hydrated. Minimal makeup and a fresh, dewy look can complement your easy and breezy summer style. However, unless you want to look like a caked-up mess once the heat melts your makeup, I suggest you reduce it to a minimum.
