I am a beginner seamstress and want to sew myself a skirt. So far my experience is limited to simple projects, but I am enthusiastic. Please share your experience in sewing skirts: what styles have you sewn, what patterns and fabrics have you used? I would be very grateful for your advice!

Hi! I love sewing skirts! I’ve been doing it for about five years now. I started with simple models, like “sunshine”, and now I can already “pencils”. For the first skirt you are advised to choose a simple style, for example, straight or trapezoid. And choose a fabric not loose, so that it was easy to work with it. And also try here to see skirt sewing patterns https://fabrico.design/product-category/womens-sewing-patterns/womens-skirts/ Don’t be afraid to try new things!

Hi! I have not been sewing for a long time, but I love skirts. In my opinion, the most important thing is the pattern. So first make a trial pattern out of calico, so that you don’t have to remake it later. And don’t forget about good fittings – they will last longer.

I love sewing too, but have always wondered how you make a good pattern. Do you make the skirt first and then pull the seams apart? Or do you make two of everything before sewing? It would seem to me they pull it apart, otherwise, how would they know where to put the stitch patterns etc? Can you explain?
