THIS IS HOW TO PERFECT THE 5 O’CLOCK SHADOW BEARD STYLE

If you want to learn more about different beard styles for men, Check this out:

However, having a 5 o’clock shadow eight or nine hours after shaving is unrealistic for the vast majority of men. The majority of us simply do not grow facial hair at that rate.

So when we talk about the 5 o’clock shadow beard style, we really mean a short stubble beard – the kind that takes a few days to form after shaving. When done correctly, that tiny bit of stubble can send a powerful message about your masculine capabilities (however you choose to define those).

But, like time, the 5 o’clock shadow beard is elusive; difficult to grasp. It’s a cycle – you have a small window of stubble perfection before it grows too long and you start looking ragged. Then you shave and repeat the procedure.

With that in mind, these five steps will assist you in perfecting the 5 o’clock shadow.

1. DETERMINE YOUR PERFECT 5 O’CLOCK SHADOW LENGTH.

As previously stated, most men do not develop a 5 o’clock shadow beard in eight hours.

It will most likely take you between one and five days to achieve your ideal stubble length.

So, how do you figure out what your ideal 5 o’clock shadow is?

Remove the guard from your electric trimmer and shave (we’ll go over why you should use an electric trimmer later).

Next, monitor your stubble for the next week and note the days when it looks best-not too short, not too long, but just right. This is completely subjective, but when it becomes excessively long and scraggly. You should have a two-ti-four-day window where your stubble looks its best.

2. USE ELECTRICITY

Rocking the 5 o’clock shadow is a constant battle between having your stubble too short, just right, and too long.

When your scruff becomes too long, you should trim it. The problem is that getting your stubble back to the perfect length is nearly impossible. Using an electric razor, such as the Brio Beardscape or Aberlite Trim, will help you stay a little closer to peak scruff.

In other words, don’t give yourself a disadvantage by re-starting with a baby-smooth face every few days.

Next, monitor your stubble for the next week and note the days when it looks best-not too short, not too long, but just right.

3. RECORD THE TIMING

We discussed determining your ideal stubble length and how long it takes you to get there after trimming with your electric clippers in step one. This, again, varies from person to person. It could be one day or three days. What matters is that knowledge to your advantage.

For example, if you have a date this weekend or simply intend to go out, time your trim so that you can achieve your ideal stubble length on the same day as your plans.

4. CHECK YOUR NECK

If you prefer a shorter 5 o’clock shadow, you can probably skip this step. If you prefer to wear your hair longer or if it grows past your Adam’s apple, make sure to trim your neckline.

We’d normally advise you to set your neckline one or two fingers above your adam’s apple.

However, because the stubble on a 5 o’clock shadow is so short, you can get away with going a little higher with your neckline. In this case, two or three fingers from your Adam’s apple. Do not, under any circumstances, bring your neckline all the way up to your jaw. It’s strange, unnatural, and appears to be from the year 2005.

5. SOFTEN UP

A stubble beard, also known as a scruffy beard, is widely regarded as the most attractive beard length. However, there is a disadvantage: Stubble can be sharp and prickly, causing irritation to anyone who comes into contact with it.

Add a versatile beard and skin moisturizer like Beardbrand Utility Balm to your routine to help soften those razor-sharp hairs.

It is made with natural ingredients like shea and mango butter, which soften stubble and work wonders on dry skin, among other things.
